We are now roughly 3 weeks away from the beginning of Startup Weekend! Given that there is little time left we wanted to put out a call for Sponsors interested in being a part of this local event to get in touch with the Local Organizer or Clayton from Startup Weekend. Most planning will be complete in the week or so and in order to ensure that you get a place in the event we need to begin finalizing some things now.
As for everyone else, please keep spreading the word and generating buzz about this event. I know Indianapolis can be a success and let’s make it happen!

Would love to get the word out, if we had some details. My day job is PR, and so I have connections to local media, if I had some info.
Also, Smaller Indiana kicked in support for SW in Bloomington, I know they would do same here if we got them details.

Here is what I would recommend.
Have everyone you know locally with Linkedin contacts invite their contacts.
Do the same with Facebook friends
Assemble a group of local bloggers and have them send out the message.
Get the host school (Purdue) involved have them send out an invite and post the event on school website
Doesn’t the guy who started ChaCha live near Indy? He has to have startup followers. See if he’ll be a keynote. Have him rally his local ChaCha guides.
Send around the video and news stories to local journalists and let them know the event is coming to Indy. Give one an exclusive.
Post flyers in coffee shops, Paneras, School bulletin boards etc.
Twitter locals
Invite local Venture Capital and Angel Investors and ask them to get their companies involved.
These are just a few of the things we did in Columbus.

Thanks for the suggestions.. yes we can do all that, as well as direct connections to local media.. my problem, is i don’t have nay details on what to distribute.
